More notes from Union meeting 3. :)

Good day Carriers,

Here are more notes from the most recent Union meeting in no particular order:

– Bill Rotundo and Sean Killean, both Trustees, attended recent training on active shooters. They gave us some info on what they learned…

– 70% of active shooter situation last five minutes or less

– always be aware of alternative exits

– The national average time for law enforcement to arrive is two minutes

– for your family you should create an evacuation plan and at all times pick a place to gather, to meet up, in case there is a emergency or you get separated

– Three steps that should be followed during an active shooter are…

– RUN – run as far as you can and as fast as you can, leave everything behind

– HIDE – if you can’t run or run out of space, then hide. Don’t come out until it is safe.

– FIGHT – if you are about to be found and attacked, you and all those around you, must fight quickly, surprisingly, and violently. (They didn’t say this, but eyes, fingers, groins are all sensitive and can stun and make the shooter hesitate. This might give you an opportunity to run again.)

See you soon!
