30 Minute Truck Loading Time
Good day Carriers,
When I visited Seaford the other day, I noticed that the management team posted a notification that loading the truck must be done in less than 30 minutes.
This is not a rule. It is a guideline.
Nowhere in manuals, in the contract, or in the local agreement does it say you must take 30 minutes or less to load your truck.
The time it takes you to load the truck is the time it takes you.
As long as you are doing the right thing, you cannot be disciplined for taking more than 30 minutes to load the truck.
The poster should read something to the effect of “You should be loading the truck as efficiently and effectively as possible, taking safety as a factor when doing so. A good time to strive for would be 30 minutes or less unless extenuating circumstances prevent that.”
Hope this helps.
Send me any questions.
See you soon,
– Dave
